IGCC organises a musical evening by Swapan Dutta Baul and Dipankar Mondal at Kabi Sufia Kamal Auditorium, Bangladesh National Museum, Shahbagh, Dhaka at 6.30 PM on 14 October, 2017.
Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre is organising an evening of Folk Songs by Swapan Dutta Baul from India and Modern Songs by Dipankar Mondal of Bangladesh at Kabi Sufia Kamal Auditorium, Bangladesh National Museum, Shahbagh, Dhaka at 6:30 PM on 14 October, 2017.
Mr. Swapan Dutta is a registered and approved Baul folk singer of Government of West Bengal, India. He performs regularly in All India Radio and Doordarshan. The Government of West Bengal also appoints him from time to time to educate the public about Government programme through Baul songs.
He has received commendations and certificates for his versatile talent from President of India, Prime Minister of India Governor and Chief Minister of West Bengal and many more. He has released a video album of folk and baul songs. He is an Examiner in Bangiya Sangeet Parishad. He has completed his B.Com degree and currently working as a Music Teacher in Kolkata.
Born in a Musical family Mr. Dipankar Mondal was inspired in Music from his singer parents Mr. Dwijendra Lal Mondal and Ms. Mila Mondal. He has completed 5 years academic musical course on Nazrul sangeet and Folk songs from Prantik Shilpi Goshthi, Barisal. He is an enlisted artist of Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar.
He is also a lyricist and has composed many of his own songs. He has performed in different parts of India like Rajasthan, Punjab and West Bengal where he has performed in the R. K. Mission Institute of Culture, Ancestral house of Swami Vivekananda etc. He has also performed in almost all districts of Bangladesh.
