IGCC organised an Evening of Rabindra Sangeet “Borshar Gaane Rabindranath” by Swati Sarker, Avik Deb and Sumaya Imam at Kobi Sufia Kamal Auditorium, Bangladesh National Museum, Shahbagh, Dhaka at 6.30 PM on Saturday, 5 August, 2017

Ms. Swati Sarker received initial training in music from Ustad Sunil Dhar, Dr. Nurul Anwar and Fahmida Khatun at Mymensingh. Later she took training from eminent Rabindra Sangeet artist of Bangladesh Ms. Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya. She has participated in many stage programmes and TV channels of Bangladesh. She has released an album titled ‘Rekechhi Kanak Mondire’ in 2012. At present, she is working as a teacher at ‘Shurer Dhara’, the famous music institution of Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya.

Mr. Avik Deb trained in music from Mr. Rashbehari Chakravarty and Ms. Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya. He received the “Prothom Maan” award in 2009 in a competition organized by the Bangladesh Rabindra Sangeet Sammelon Parishod and the First Prize in a Rabindra Sangeet competition organized by Channel l in 2011. He is a regular performer in Bangladesh TV and Radio. He has released one album from Impress titled ‘Shamne Milon Shorgo’ and another from G-series titled ‘E Bani Preyoshi’. He is also an architect.

Ms. Sumaya Imam Ema learnt Rabindra Sangeet from Ms. Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya from childhood. She has completed her five years certificate course in Rabindra Sangeet from ‘Shurer Dhara’ and has worked as a music teacher there from 2008 to 2014. She is an enlisted artist of Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar. She has participated in different cultural programs in India. Presently she is working as a Teacher at Sunnydale School.
